Hanson Holds Court
It was a complete "love" match when Hanson played at the grand opening of the Arthur
Ashe tennis center in New York. More than 20,000 fans showed up for the U.S Tennis
Association s first annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day in New York recently which included two
sets of live music from Hanson. While tennis stars such as Martina Hingis and Andre
Agassi as well as TV veterans like Bill Cosby drew much applause, the most anticipated
ceremony was the brothers Ike, Taylor and Zac Hanson playing their hits "MMMBop" and
"Where's The Love" as well as other songs from their mega successful album Middle Of
Nowhere. Here's some highlights from the festives.
Hanson on MTV
MTV played a large part in introducing fans to Hanson with their heavy play of their first
video "MMMBop," so Ike, Taylor and Zac recently repaid the favor by hosting the
preview for the 1997 MTV Video Music awards. Taped on an early Fall afternoon in the
middle of New York City's Central Park, Ike, Taylor and Zachary had a great time
messing around for the cameras. Unfortunately, a few nights later the guys lost the best
newbie award to Fiona Apple.
